A coworker and I were in the area for business and decided to check this location out after locally owned business had over an hour wait on a Thursday evening. Texas Roadhouse reminds me of a few other peanut-and-lots-of-meat chains, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. For one, their rolls are excellent - hot, yeasty and delicious. My coworker did a pulled pork sandwich and soup, while I needed a more substantial dinner and opted for the Chicken Fried Chicken with a house salad and mashed potatoes. The food was good - nothing super special but tasty. Everything was as described on the menu - which hooray! The location was busy and our server seemed stretched a little thin. While we did wait a bit sometimes for drink refills or a requested extra with our meals, our server was apologetic for the delays and tried her best. She also sent us home with some extra rolls which turned out to be a lifesaver since the "breakfast" at our hotel was minimal and unappealing. Thank you, Texas Roadhouse!

Texas Roadhouse is a new addition to Orange City (DeBary), and a welcome one at that. The restaurant scene in DeBary/Deltona/Orange City is pretty sorry, with only a few chain places here and there. Texas RH fits that mold, but it's a good fit to an area without a decent steak to be found. I've eaten at a few "peanut houses" as I call them, and I'm always shocked that there isn't a giant sign in the front saying "ATTENTION - lots of peanuts inside," for people with allergies. You can't turn around without stepping on or seeing a peanut. Good for me, 'cause I love 'em. I've been to this location twice now while visiting my father, and both times it was packed. No problem though because the service was just fine. A short wait followed by attentive servers. I could do without the line-dancing nonsense, but I'm sure some people find it cute. The sirloin is really really good. Like the Outback special at (duh) Outback, it's a nice cut with little fat, and very tender. It's a great value at any price. The other steaks look fine also, and the sides are delicious. The drink menu is full of fun and tasty choices, but the beer choices are a little skimpy. My dad got a generous pour of wine as well. So, chain restaurant, yes. Good food and service, yes. Great addition to the area, @#$! yes!

As others have stated Loud. Yet the food was exceptional for a chain restaurant. We had a table of 9. The service was superb and the food great. My steak was prepared medium rare and not salty. Shrimp was tender and not over cooked, great seasoning. Everyone enjoyed their meal! The meals were fairly priced.

Pardon me for not getting all giddy about this Steak House Chain its the default Steak House in Orange City a city known for it wide selection of chain restaurants. If your eating steak in Orange City this is most likely where you'll end up. Extremely noisy, a true roadhouse atmosphere without the mechanical bull and average food, I was invited here for a business dinner (forget about doing business here). I was impressed with how many booths and tables they could jam in the space and still comply with the local fire codes. The servers turn sideways when crossing each other's path delivering fried appetizers and domestic beer. Our server actually lost us in the crowded feed lot we were crammed in and mostly stopped by to offer up her apologetic excuses why we haven't been served our drinks while getting our throats parched by the salted shelled peanuts. When we finally got our food it was okay nothing I would discuss at the water fountain at work the next morning or mark off my bucket list. I give them 3 stars so I can feel good about returning when I'm invited back by a business associate with a small expense account. The employee line dance routine is ridiculously corny executed with out enthusiasm by a humiliated staff the General Manager must feel like as ass for doing this to his / her staff but then again the average age of the servers here looks to be no more than 21. The turn over has to be extremely high.

This one of our favorite places. Seems everyone else too! Parking lot is always full. We ask for either Casey lee or Sean. They are excellent severs. We have settled on a ribeye steaks. But everything on the menu is good. Throwing peanuts on the floor is ok.

I've been to Texas Roadhouse a few times. It is always packed but never had I waited long for a table or had bad customer service. Their food is glorious. Usually, I order steak but I decided pork chops was the way to go today. Amazing! If I didn't mention the phenomenal bread then I'd feel like a horrible human being. This place gets 2 thumb toes up.

Had a great experience at Texas Roadhouse tonight. It was very crowded with so many people dining out for Valentine's Day, but we used the Call-ahead seating and were seated rather quickly (about 20 minutes after we arrived). Our server was Sean, and he was exceptional. He was very friendly and on top of everything, making sure we had everything we needed and that we were having a great experience. This was quite a feat considering he had multiple tables besides ours - the place was packed! Considering how busy the restaurant was, the noise level was not too bad. We were able to have a pleasant conversation during dinner. The food was great, and it came out very quickly. The rolls and butter (flavored with cinnamon) were very tasty. We ordered the "Legendary" special, with the cactus blossom, one entree and two sides each. The sirloin, chicken, and shrimp were excellent (boyfriend got sirloin and chicken with Caesar salad and steak fries, I got sirloin and shrimp with sweet potato and house salad). The loaded sweet potato was huge - I had about half of it for dessert and took the other half home - definitely needed a couple doggie bags! Overall, a great experience. On a busy holiday, it would be easy for a restaurant staff to get overwhelmed and for the speed and quality of service to suffer - but Sean and the rest of the staff at Texas Roadhouse definitely exceeded our expectations. We had been to other Texas Roadhouses in other states, but just recently moved to Florida, and this is our first visit to this location. We will definitely be back.

I had a fun time here with my mum. Our waitress, Kayla, was very good and attentive. It's loud enough to feel like you're having a conversation no one else could hear. I like that. Very casual and family friendly. One thing that's odd - this is one of those places where they force the waitstaff to dance awkwardly every hour or so. It just looks like they are a little humiliated by the whole thing. I don't understand why places still do this. Bring my food, take my money, we don't have to bring broadway in here. Anyway, food and drink-wise, the place had a lot to offer. We started out with two sweet iced teas, which were really yummy, fresh brewed southern style. We also split a giant frozen peach margarita, which was one of the best I ever had. They also have a giant bucket of peanuts on the tables and barrels of peanuts on the floor. It's a peanut party up in here. We had their delicious yeast rolls and I pigged out. So good. I could have had them as my meal. I'm a true bread lover and yeast rolls are my favorite. We also ordered one of their cactus flowers, which was really hot and fresh. For my entree, I got the salmon. While it was cooked perfectly, it was a little salty. Mum got the catfish, which she said was great. Both our salads were awesome, the dressings are all homemade! I will be back. Possibly might just eat rolls.

I was not at all impressed with the food or the service. Steak was okay but not as tender or tasty as the steaks I've enjoyed at other chain restaurants. The open seating area is clean and nicely decorated but extremely noisy. Service staff is friendly but not efficient, which I attribute to poor management. While prices are reasonable, I will dine at a different place during my next visit to the Deltona area.

First time at the Texas Roadhouse. Nice place but loud. Could not hear the music over the people talking. Nice size booths and very attentive service. The restaurant was out of the pulled pork so I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was perfectly done and the fries were delicious. We also ordered the pickle fries and they were great. My husband ordered the steak tips with rice and applesauce. He said it was very good. Our server Kacey was very attentive and came back to make sure we were happy. Had a Margarita which was okay but a little weak with too much ice. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Fresh, quick and delish! While the restaurant location was not convenient to where we live , we found it worth the drive ! We ordered southern fried chicken and chicken critters ! Both were delicious and tasted fresh! Each dinner came with two sides. Salads were crisp and cold and the steak fries were seasoned well ( nothing fancy ) Service was prompt and thorough ! Will enjoy again !

My fiance and I had a busy day and hadn't eaten yet. We were in the area and haven't had a steak in a while i suggested Texas Roadhouse. Surprisingly The parking lot was packed (at 9pm). I thought gosh, maybe we should go some place else. It looks like its going to be a wait. But we gave it a chance, and another surprise, we were given a table right when we walked in. The service was great! Our waiter was right over to our table taking our drink order. He was knowledgeable of the menu and was able to describe the kind of rice to me to a T. It took just a short time to get our food, and mmmm, steak was tender and cooked to perfectly. I ordered well done, which in a lot of places the steak still comes out with some pink but over cooked on the outside. This no pink and lightly browned inside and out. Super! This sold me. When I want a steak dinner, I know where I'll be going. My fiance was very pleased with his steak as well. Cooked just perfectly. We both were pleased with all our food, service and atmosphere.

We had a great dinner! The waitress Kaylee was superb and friendly. I had beef tips with potato's, onions and mushrooms with gravy . Very tender meat and very hot dinner. Salad and yeast rolls were great too! Wife loves the roast 1/2 chicken and sweet potato! Delicious meal and service with a great price. Ask for Kaylee, she is a great waitress!

Tried repeatedly to call in a take out order. Phone rang busy. Upon arriving at restaurant was told they were unaware phone was off the hook but if I could stand off to the side someone would be with me shortly. Called the restaurant while standing there and watched "hostess" (one of four) pick up phone and hang it back up. Walked out after 10 minutes and no service. I think they have permanently lost my business. Zero stars more accurate and winner of worst service ever award!

    (1)
  • M M.

I get that this is a popular place, but you might want to work on customer service. And with four girls at the front desk, maybe one of them can work the take-out desk? Or at the very least acknowledge the people standing there awkwardly waiting for ten minutes waiting to be served and/or checked out? I'll spend my money elsewhere for now.

Texas Roadhouse is one of those restaurants that you enjoy going into and eating comfort food without the pretentious over-the-top nonsense. Sure with all the fried food, yeast rolls, etc its not one of those places you want to eat at every day but occasionally its great with family and friends. I've eaten at these restaurants in many places I've worked at and it became a 'go to' spot after work just to relax. Went there around 8pm and the place was packed even for a Saturday night and it was still going strong when we left at 10pm. Our waiter, Matt explained in pretty good detail the items on the menu because with the exception of myself nobody had every been to a Texas Roadhouse previously. We started with both the Tater Skins and Fried Pickles appetizers, one our my party commented that the pickles were saltier than she would've liked, we all agreed the battered had been seasoned so if you're not a fan of salt beware, we all proceed to have the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. We all went through about 6 baskets of yeast rolls with their sweet butter spread. Folks, this is a good as it gets when you're craving comfort food. There is something for everyone on their menu and they even give you those 'ballpark' peanuts to eat and let you throw the shells on the floor. Good times for all at Texas Roadhouse.

  • Lucy W.

I love the yeast rolls from this place! At least I think they are similar or the same as the yeast rolls from Roadhouse Grill in SoFla that went out of business. Though I would have preferred a butter that wasn't sweetened with cinnamon, but aside from that the yeast rolls were served fresh and are always a pleasure. Peanuts are given along with an empty bucket for the shells. Many shells were on the floor but this is what makes TR charming in its own right. They have a great early bird special for $8.99 by 6pm. The food is good for a chain. Better than a lot of other chains like Applebee's whom I hate. I had grilled BBQ chicken, sweet potato and chili. All were fine. My bf had country fried steak, baked potato and the house salad. All were also tasty and fresh. Our server was very attentive, offered to-go waters and gave us peanuts to go because it was my first time. She also gave me a $5 off coupon for my next visit (oh, I definitely will). I recommend this restaurant for a casual meal (or to watch a game because they have TVs) and especially if you enjoy soft yeast rolls!

The service here was mediocre at best, our server, Daira, was not very attentive. She took our order, brought our drinks, dropped our food off, and then brought the check ten minutes later. This Texas Roadhouse needs to take some service tips from the location in Port Orange. Overall, the food was great. I ordered the Salmon with rice and a house salad. My husband ordered the Texas Ribeye with mashed potatoes and a salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and was very tender.

Thank you Texas Roadhouse (and ALL of the Orange City staff); for being such great supporters of our military and our veterans. On Veteran's Day 11/11/11, the place couldn't have been more busy. Despite the restaurant being filled to capacity, and an extensive waiting list, the entire staff remained professional and courteous, and did a fantastic job. I can't say enough good things about them. I was lucky enough to score one of the best seats (yeah, at the bar), and was also able to speak to many of the veterans who were also there to accept your generous offer of a free lunch. EVERYONE was very grateful to Texas Roadhouse, and I wanted to make sure to take a few moments and provide an outstanding write-up, on behalf of numerous veterans I spoke to that afternoon. This review should probably count for AT LEAST another 50 positive feedbacks! There are probably a hundred steakhouses between my house and this location, but I will be making the trip back up to Orange City to give them repeat business, just because of their support for veterans. (Also, I just bought some Texas Roadhouse gift cards, since they are donating 10% of the proceeds to Homes for our Troops!!) Great place. 2 thumbs up.

This is a fun place to dine in. You will find peanut shells everywhere on the floor because that's the Texas style!! You can just eat peanuts while waiting for your table, and there is a bucket of peanuts on your table too. But forget about peanuts and let's move on with some main dishes. I got BBQ Chicken + Grilled Shrimp Combo with 2 sides, shrimp was very tasty and BBQ chicken breast was also yummy. I also had a taste of their Fillet, it was actually delicious. I'm not a big fan of steak and as a matter of fact, I don't eat steak at all. So for someone like me that doesn't eat steak I have to say their steak is gooood. I also got some drinks: Midori Sour and Malibu Baby, I wanted to try Zombie drink but they didn't have a full bar there to make the drink. But still the two drinks I got were good, although I wish they'd put less ice and more alcohol..LOL

Great BBQ - The food is good as always, it is very noisy, Love the shell peanuts they give you. probably will be crowded on the weekends. Had to wait 25 minutes the last time I was there that is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Great steak in a tacky atmosphere. Texas Roadhouse has fried pickles. Is that enough to get you in here? They are amazing and absolutely worth the indigestion. I got Filet Mignon here and I was shocked by how great it was. It melted on the tongue like a good filet should and was pretty close to expensive filets I've had in the past. Be warned: This is a restaurants that makes the servers dance. This experience is awkward for everybody involved and I don't know why restaurants keep instituting it. It's really hard to avoid all eye contact and not laugh at these poor souls. It's degrading and I wish places would stop making these hardworking people look like morons (especially when a good portion accomplish this on their own terms). The decor is pretty trashy, and hopefully you can stomach staring at dead animals (like a stuffed iguana) while chewing your food. Food-wise, this is the best chain in Orange City.

October 23, 2010. I was there just last week. A server named Julian approached the table and it was all uphill from there. He even asked us to cut into our steaks while he was still there so he knew they were cooked right. Everything was fresh and the rolls are slammin. The filet was perfectly done to my liking. I've been to one in Citrus county. It was also very good for a chain.

You can't go wrong here or in any other state they are located in... They do screw up from time to time, but you'll have that...

Had dinner tonight. VERY disappointed. Both filet mignon and hamburger were so salty that it made my mouth burn. Mentioned to manager and got a half hearted apology Doubt that I will ever return.
